A former Georgia State Properties Commission and Building Authority citizen member appointed by Lieutenant Governor of Georgia Casey Cagle, Dr. George Snelling is a real estate investor and philanthropist who resides in Augusta. Dr. George Snelling pays over $500,000 per year in property taxes to Columbia Counties and Richmond/Augusta and previously held executive roles with the Home Builders Association of Augusta, Georgia Self Storage Association, and the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce.

George Snelling's most significant civic project is his transfer of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame building to the Medical College of Georgia in 2012, which helped spark a revitalization of the city's downtown core. In addition to his real estate endeavors, he is a politically-affluent individual who once served as chairman of the Builders Association Political Action Committee as well as board member of the Republican Party of Columbia County.

Prior to focusing his efforts on real estate, Dr. Snelling worked for over two decades as a dentist. He completed his education at the Medical College and earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Georgia. He continues to provide charity dentistry services and also supports a variety of academic institutions. Additionally, he serves as vice chairman of Goodwill of Middle Georgia, which assists underprivileged individuals find employment.
