Practicing in Tempe, Arizona, Dr. Lauren Bonner has a background in psychiatric medicine extending more than 15 years. She performs general mental health care as the psychiatrist for the ACT Team at the Tempe Offices of Empact-La Frontera Suicide Prevention. Dr. Lauren Bonner previously held leadership responsibilities at a number of institutions and served as Arizona State Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Bonner’s areas of specialization over the years have included geriatrics and Alzheimer’s disease. She was an investigator for numerous clinical trials, including a double-blind, randomized, multi-center study focused on Aripiprazole as a treatment for patients suffering from Alzheimer’s related dementia and psychosis.
She sat on the expert panel of a PBS Channel 8, program called Alzheimer’s in Arizona in 2004. The following year, she presented on the topic, Pharmacologic Treatment of Depression in the Elderly at the Arizona Geriatrics Society's annual meeting. She has also contributed her time and efforts as a geriatric psychiatry consultant with the Seatoma Convalescent Center and at the Wesley Homes Nursing Home in Des Moines, Washington.
