An accomplished Illinois surgeon and healthcare leader, Dr. Sabha Ganai holds an MD from the USC Keck School of Medicine, and a PhD in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She served as director of gastrointestinal oncology for Southern Illinois University (SIU) as a board-certified surgical oncologist. Dr. Sabha Ganai’s work with SIU included instructing students as an assistant professor and chairing multiple committees. While employed at SIU, she secured an MPH in epidemiology from the Harvard University T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Since June of 2018, Dr. Sabha Ganai has served as a senior fellow at the University of Chicago MacLean Center for Clinical Ethics. She is also a member of the board of directors for the Consortium for Surgical Ethics and the editorial board of the ASCO Connection. Dr. Ganai’s other editorial and peer-review activities include reviewing articles for publication in multiple medical journals.
