Professor of clinical neurology Dr. Stephen J. Marks serves as a vascular neurologist at Neurology Associates of Westchester, Hawthorne, New York. Dr. Stephen J. Marks is an American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology-certified adult and neurovascular neurologist.
Dr. Marks obtained a doctor of medicine degree from the New York Medical College in 1980. He interned at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York for a year and did his neurology residency at Mt. Sinai hospital over the next three years. Next, he completed a stroke fellowship at Duke University Medical Center that focused on stroke with additional research on Alzheimer's disease and neuronal plasticity.
Since he began teaching clinical neurology at the New York Medical College, Dr. Stephen Marks has received the Outstanding Teaching Award from the graduating class 17 times. His motivation for teaching enthusiastically is rooted in the belief that though Stroke and Alzheimer's disease can't be cured, ignorance can. Dr. Marks is a fellow of the American Heart Association and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
