Drew Jarred Carrington is a computer professional whose areas of interest range from software development to network management. While an undergraduate at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, he maintained a 3.64 GPA and completed technology internships with the Intergraph Corporation and Cobb County Information Services. After securing his bachelor of science in computer science with Highest Honors, Drew Jarred Carrington remained at Georgia Tech to earn his master of science in computer science with a concentration in social computing.
Since 2017, Mr. Carrington has served the City of Atlanta as an end user support technician within its internal Department of Atlanta Information Management. This position involves the inventory tracking of the city’s expansive computing resources as well as the completion of key projects such as creating and configuring the network and email accounts of all city employees. In the wake of a 2018 ransomware attack on city computer systems, he played a vital role in the restoration of service.
