Based in Oklahoma City, Duke Ligon is an experienced professional in the oil, gas, and energy industries. He has led Mekusukey Oil Company, LLC, one of the nation’s largest privately owned mineral investment firms, since establishing the organization nearly five decades ago. In his position at Mekusukey Oil Company, Duke Ligon manages all daily and strategic operations, which include matters of acquiring and managing ongoing mineral interests. Headquartered in Wewoka with an executive office in Oklahoma City, Mekusukey owns in excess of 93,000 net mineral acres in 24 states.
Mr. Ligon recently expanded his professional activities by joining Peter J. Solomon Company as senior advisor to the Houston, Texas-based investment banking advisory company’s energy advisory group. He also has spent time working in areas of banking and law. He prepared for his legal career in Austin at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.
His activities outside the energy sector include serving as a member of the Majors Gifts Committee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and on the boards of additional area charities.
