An attorney with over 35 years of law experience, Edgar "Ed" Gentle completed the first of his degrees at Auburn University in 1975. After earning a bachelor of science degree from the school, Ed Gentle completed his masters degree in natural resources management at Miami University, where he wrote his thesis on the biology and economics of Dade County. A Rhodes Scholarship recipient, he studied law for two years at Oxford University and later completed his juris doctor degree at the University of Alabama.

Ed Gentle began his career as an associate with North, Haskell, Slaughter, Young & Lewis and gained further experience as an attorney with companies and Alabama law firms such as AT&T and the Law Offices of James L. North. Since 1992, he has served as a managing partner with Gentle, Turner, Sexton & Harbison.

Among other specialties, Ed Gentle stands out for his proficiency as a settlement administrator for community tort settlements. Supplementing his legal responsibilities, he has served as a director and chairman of the board for Custom Cable Services since 1998. In his free time, he enjoys writing poems and short stories as well as spending time with his three sons.
