A professional educator for more than 20 years, Edward Brandon has served in a number of Illinois districts including East Aurora, St. Charles, and Yorkville. He currently serves as an ACT and SAT test preparation teacher at the Huntington Learning Center, where he provides individualized instruction in the content areas of language arts and science. Edward Brandon comes to this role following service as a Title 1 English Language Arts (ELA) interventionist with the Yorkville School District 115, in which capacity he provided literacy learning and scaffolded support to struggling students.
Mr. Brandon has also served as an English teacher at Chicago's North Lawndale College Prep High School. There, he developed Advanced Placement language and composition and American literature instruction that aligned with the school's shifting focus to college readiness. He accepted this position having served for 13 years as a teacher with the diverse Aurora East School District, during which time he developed a new curriculum for digital literacy and secured an Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) grant that brought more than $400,000 into the school system.
