For the last decade Eloah Rocha, a child psychology graduate of Boulder University, has served the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital as a youth counselor. In her role at the hospital, she runs a youth activity center designed to support the brothers and sisters of the hospital’s youth patients. Her responsibilities as a counselor encompass all aspects of managing the center, ranging from setting and adjusting daily schedules to evaluating and guiding the hospital’s child care employees. During her tenure at the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, Eloah Rocha has conducted a number of psychological studies. The majority of these studies have focused on interactions between siblings and patients, as well as steps that can be taken to benefit the entire family unit during treatment.
Outside of her work at the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, Ms. Rocha frequently participates in fundraising efforts that are directed to youth after-school programs. She further volunteers at a local elementary school by assisting students with homework. Eloah Rocha’s charitable interests have also led her to coordinate events for organizations that support children with disabilities.
