Emmanuel Lalande serves as the vice president for enrollment management at South Carolina’s Benedict College, where he draws on more than a decade of experience in the education sector. He oversees the retention, financial aid, and admission and recruitment areas and collaborates with the necessary parties to fulfill enrollment management goals. During these collaborations, Emmanuel Lalande works closely with the university’s marketing, student accounts, student housing, and institutional research departments. He also holds the responsibility of developing department budgets and monitoring the use of institutional resources.
Prior to joining the Benedict College faculty, Dr. Lalande held the position of vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Florida Memorial University, where he succeeded in recruiting the highest number of Hispanic-identifying students in the school’s history. He was the vice president and dean of students for Harris-Stowe State University earlier in his career, during which time he designed a number of leadership-focused programs. Dr. Lalande’s accomplishments include implementing the Black Male Initiative, the Emerging Leaders Program, and YouthSparks Live. Additionally, he led the university in hosting its first Male Empowerment Summit.
Emmanuel Lalande belongs to a number of professional organizations for college administrators, such as the Southern Association for College Student Affairs, the National Association for Campus Activities, and the National Association of Student Affairs Professionals.
