The recipient of a bachelor's degree in English and master's degree in special education from California State University, Eric Buries began his career as an educational specialist at Rowland Unified School District. After 7 years in this position, Eric Buries worked as a school psychologist at Pomona Unified School District. He leveraged this experience to serve him over the next decade in his role as a transition specialist at Deer Park School District in Washington.

From 2014 to 2016, Eric Buries was a special education coordinator at San Bernardino City Unified School District. In this role, he supervised more than 60 classified and certificated staff across multiple departments and supported various district preschool programs, among other responsibilities.

Mr. Buries presently serves as a school psychologist and special education director at Encore Educational Corporation. His responsibilities vary on a day-to-day basis, and include actions such as assessing students for suspected disabilities, coordinating programming and enrollment activities, and performing staff evaluation.
