The recipient of a Master in Public Administration from American University, Eric Dawicki began his career in 1985 as an ordinary seaman with WHMVN Steamship Authority and later gained progressive responsibilities with Ahrenkiel Ship Management. In 1994, after nine years in the maritime shipping industry, Eric Dawicki accepted a position as Director of the New Orleans, Louisiana-based American Maritime Shipping. For the past 23 years, he has served as President of Northeast Maritime Institute (NMI).

In his work with NMI, Eric Dawicki has led development of the only private maritime college in the United States and created successful business strategies that have ensured long-term financial sustainability. He also leverages his experience to advise shipping companies on international regulatory compliance. Beyond his role with NMI, Mr. Dawicki serves as President and CEO of Dominica Maritime Registry and Founder of Transportation Security Logistics. He also co-founded the Center for Maritime Leadership, through which he provided consultancy services regarding maritime safety and environmental protection from 1997 to 2000.
