What is your passion? This is something I ask people when I meet them for the first time. Or as Simon Sinek wrote, Start With Why. Does your job title or employer define who you are? I think there is a deeper passion that drives us all to pursue a career or path that allows us to do the things we love.
My passion is empowering others to live their dreams through financial education. I grew up with a scarcity mentality and wanted to become Gordon Gekko from Wall Street. My old belief was there were limited resources and I wanted to get a bigger slice of the pie of the American Dream. After completing an internship at a ski resort, rather than a traditional financial firm, I just wanted to be happy and thought money wasn’t the most important thing in life.
Fast forward to my real life education. I’ve worked the hardest, physical low paying jobs... where I was happy. I’ve also had the experience with stable employment, with a good salary and benefits... and been miserable. My continuing education included many enlightening books, and what began to shift in my mind was an awareness of abundance. Money doesn’t make you a good or bad person. It allows you to amplify who you are by giving you the resources to contribute and improve the world in a manner that aligns with your beliefs.
What are your beliefs and passions and how would having more wealth allow you to improve your life and others? Let me show you how we can create a bigger pie.
