While working toward his undergraduate degree, German major Erik Helverson has worked in customer service, sales, and inventory in the solar energy and pharmaceutical industry. As a sales agent for Momentum Solar, Erik Helverson invited homeowners to learn more about the financial and environmental benefits of solar panel installations. He also fielded phone calls from returning and potential customers at Momentum’s call center.

Most recently, he spent several months as a technician for Walgreens Pharmacy. In this role, he worked alongside medical and pharmacy professionals and provided patients with crucial information about their prescriptions.

After completing three years at Gettysburg College, he enrolled at Montclair State University. In his second semester, he qualified for the prestigious Anita Magistro Udell Scholarship, which offers grants to language majors interested in studying abroad.

Through this scholarship, he was able to spend the Fall 2019 semester studying German at the University of Graz in Austria. He maintains a 4.0 GPA in his studies and serves as a board member of the university’s German club.
