Erik Halvorsen always wanted to be a doctor, in college he attended the University of Virginia and earned his B.A. in both Psychology and Pre-Med. From there Erik went on to get his M.S. in Anatomy from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He wanted to continue on with school and finally returned to the University of Virginia to earn his Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology. With the time that he spend in school he discovered the love and passion that he had for research. To put his skills to use Erik found that there was an absence of care when it came to pediatric medicine. This was due to his own personal experience as his daughter had been born with medical complications. Erik decided to use his position to cement his belief that there needed to be more superior pediatric care.
While he has had firm beliefs about the need for better pediatric care, Erik Halvorsen also wants to create innovation for the care of others and has been at the forefront of his mind. Erik has years of experience in both the business and medical fields, and he strives to marry both by helping innovative medical technologies get the funding they need. Erik understands that not every investor understands the medical field. He also knows that medical researchers may not be as in-tune with the business side of operations. He uses his extensive knowledge of both to help both parties understand the other, leading to successful partnerships that can benefit people in need.
Most recently, Erik Halvorsen has been working as a Partner at pHpartners, a healthcare investment bank. In this role, he is able to combine his diverse talents into one common mission. He is inspired by the work he does and hopes to continue bringing about change and developments in the industry.
