Father Elias Lorenzo has served as an ordained priest since 1989. Currently based in Rome, he serves as president of the International Commission for Benedictine Education and is a prior of the Primatial Abbey of Sant’Anaselmo. Previously, he served as canonical counsel for Praesidium, Inc., and held the position of vicar in the Diocese of Metuchen. Over the course of his work as a priest, Father Elias Lorenzo has contributed to a number of charitable activities, including international missions trips to Nicaragua, Brazil, the Philippines, China, and India. Further, he was honored for his work with Operation Smile International, and in 2005 he received a humanitarian award.
Father Elias Lorenzo earned a master of arts in liturgical theology at St. John’s University, a master of arts in education in counseling psychology from Seton Hall University, and a licenciate of canon law at the Catholic University of America. He is a member of organizations including the Canon Law Society of America and the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions.
