A resident of Key Biscayne, Florida, Fernando De La Lama enjoys traveling across the globe. Recently he ventured to several cities in Latin America, including Bogota, Colombia, La Paz, Bolivia, Panama City, Panama, and Santiago, Chile. He counts La Paz as one of the most unique cities he has seen, due in large part to its location. When Fernando De La Lama arrived in the city, he landed at the airport found in the neighboring municipality of El Alto. Since the area is about 13,800 feet above sea level, numerous people suffer from altitude sickness while there.
While in La Paz, Fernando De La Lama enjoyed exploring the area by foot. He always made sure that he started north and walked downhill, since the area is high above sea level. He observed that you could really feel the altitude once you began the return walk uphill.
While in La Paz, he also took advantage of its unique public transportation system, the cable car system called Teleferico. He took some of the different lines that run throughout the area, experiencing many stunning views of the city and beyond.
