Since 2005, Dr. Gabriel Gonzales-Portillo has practiced as a neurosurgeon at BayCare Medical Group in Tampa, Florida. Concentrating in minimally invasive procedures for the brain and spine, he has treated conditions ranging from trigeminal neuralgia to lumbar herniations. In addition to his role at BayCare, Dr. Gabriel Gonzales-Portillo is a medical consultant for the NFL, as well as an affiliate of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.
Dr. Gonzales-Portillo belongs to the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is also a member of the Tampa Bay Latin American Medical Society (TBLAMS), a nonprofit organization that creates health care opportunities for the community. In 2017, he received Physician of the Year honors from TBLAMS.
Dr. Gabriel Gonzales-Portillo also has amassed several years of academic experience at the University of Arizona. His research has appeared in such publications as the Journal of Neurosurgery, Pathophysiology, and Surgical Neurology. Recognized for his experience, he has given lectures at numerous meetings nationally and internationally.
