A member of the American Medical Society, Gary J. Sprouse, MD, owns a private practice at Chester, Maryland's Queen Anne's Medical Center, where he has cared for patients since 1985. Beyond treating and diagnosing patients, Gary J. Sprouse, MD, is passionate about improving the scope of services and treatment available for people with addictions.
Dr. Sprouse has three books in progress, including two on addiction, and holds membership with a variety of addiction-related societies, including the Committee for Addiction Treatment, the American Society for Addiction Medicine, and the American Association for Addiction Psychiatry. A former member of the Maryland Tobacco Coalition, he also delivers smoking prevention speeches to local high school students.
Gary J. Sprouse, MD, also has over 13 years experience as a medical director at rehabilitation centers, and is currently working toward establishing a transition house for people with opioid and alcohol dependency. He earned his medical degree in 1982 from George Washington University, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as well as Scholastic Athlete of the Year.
