A leader in the railroad industry, Mr. Gary Marino purchased the Canton Railroad with his brother in 1982 in Baltimore, Maryland. He went on to co-found RailAmerica, Inc. in 1985, and served as its Chairman, President and CEO for 20 years. In this role, he guided the company through numerous milestones, including the acquisition of The Huron & Eastern Railway Company and the company’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) and later directed the up-listing to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Mr. Marino also led the company from a startup company to achieve the 85th position on Forbes magazine's list of the 200 Best Small Companies in America.

In 2012, Mr. Marino founded International Rail Partners LLC, where he guides the company as Chairman, CEO, and Managing Member. He brings to this role decades of experience operating more than 16,000 miles of rail lines, and he has acquired more than 90 rail lines over the course of his career. Prior to entering the rail industry, Mr. Marino worked in the commercial banking industry in New York for 10 years. Also a veteran, he served as Lieutenant in the United States Army.
