Gary A. Miller Jr. is a longstanding Ohio educational administrator who holds responsibilities with Northridge Middle School as principal and has spearheaded a variety of initiatives that enhanced academic and institutional capacities. Among Gary A. Miller Jr.’s accomplishments in Springfield, Ohio, has been setting in place a blended learning approach that incorporates online schedules and classes designed to meet individual students' needs.
Mr. Miller has also led the development of new curriculum maps that ensure departmental alignment with new state standards and enable teachers to avoid repetitive instructional materials. He has implemented a data driven progress-monitoring and intervention initiative across the language arts and math programs that helps refine instructional strategies for specific student groups.
A graduate of the College of Wooster with a BA in geology, Mr. Miller was honored as offensive lineman of the year in 1994 as a member of the varsity football team. Beginning his career as a science teacher at Ellet High School in Akron, he subsequently taught science while serving as head football coach of Canton South High School.
Mr. Miller held similar responsibilities with Benjamin Logan Schools from 2003 to 2007, and accepted a position as dean of students and athletic director with Bradford Junior and Senior High School in 2008. Prior to taking his present position at Northridge Middle School in 2014, he served as Grant Middle School assistant principal for two years.
