After serving five years as an assistant manager, Gerald Wilkie was promoted to general manager of a Burlington, North Carolina Best Buy in 2010. In addition to overseeing the hiring of all employees, Gerald Wilkie was responsible for all financial functions as well as ensuring the store was operating in line with the company's standard platform. He served in this capacity until 2015, during which time the store consistently ranked among the top 10 percent of all Best Buy locations in overall performance and scored the best employee experience scores in the region.

In his final year with Best Buy, Gerald Wilkie founded HashMaster Tech, a data storage company. Within one year, he was able to focus on the company full-time and has since expanded it to become a 10-employee operation with a pair of 30,000-square-foot warehouses that host more than 4,000 servers. Moreover, the company now services more than 60 clients from 4 countries. Aside from his professional pursuits, Mr. Wilkie is a cancer survivor who regularly lends his support to the Denise Marie Flaherty Foundation.
