Glenn Dames

African Methodist Episcopal Pastor

Allen Temple AME

Leveraging over 15 years of spiritual leadership, Glenn Dames serves as a senior pastor with Tampa's Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal (AME), where he leads prayer service, conducts individual counseling, and raises funds for community initiatives. Prior his appointment to the position by Bishop Adam J. Richardson in November 2016, Glenn Dames served 10 years as a senior pastor with St. James AME; he began his career in 2001 with Mt. Pisgah AME.

Glenn Dames knew he wanted to be a reverend since he was 15 years old and soon after he began serving as a youth pastor at St. James AME, Virginia's Third Street Bethel AME, and Brown Memorial AME in Washington, D.C. He completed a bachelor's degree at Edward Waters College and earned a master of divinity degree from The Turner Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center.

Throughout his career, Reverend Dames has expanded the reach of his churches through social media, facilitated church building redesigns, and launched after-school tutorial programs. He has earned numerous accolades for his service, including the Florida Institute of Technology Rev. Harvey L. Riley Bridge Builder Award.
