A longtime Chicago transportation professional, Hector Mariscal has held responsibilities as lead Metra train conductor for many years. With more than two decades of experience in commuter train operations, Hector Mariscal performs numerous duties, including fare collection and ensuring that proper safety protocol are in place. He also regularly communicates with the engineer to make sure that appropriate safety precautions are taken.
Mr. Mariscal has a strong Christian background that includes graduating from the McCarrell Christian Academy and growing up as a member of Cicero Bible Church. His high school accomplishments included starting roles on the soccer and basketball teams, and he participated in community activities that taught him moral values.
In addition to his work as a conductor, Mr. Mariscal recently took on responsibilities as Local 653 Union vice president. He earned his associate degree in law enforcement at Morton College in Cicero, during which time he was selected as a Dean’s list member twice. As part of his studies, he worked in the Berwyn Police Department’s inventory room and completed a number of mock investigations.
