Heidi Scott, an attorney and certified public accountant (CPA), owns Schuyler Brown Land Title, located in Mount Sterling, Illinois. In her leadership role, she serves clients by preparing key real estate documents and carrying out title examinations. In addition to her work in title matters, Heidi Scott operates her own Illinois legal practice, through which she represents clients in such areas as tax law and estate planning.
Earlier in her career, she served the Illinois Department of Revenue as a tax attorney, in which capacity she worked on tax law enforcement issues in conjunction with peers in the Attorney General’s Office. Moreover, she was instrumental in the creation of a provision in the tax code that allows for innocent spouse relief related to joint return liability.
In her private life, Heidi Scott enjoys listening to music and playing both the piano and the flute. As a young adult, she competed in and performed well at the National Flute Association Annual Competition. Aside from music, she is an avid traveler who has visited Africa, Asia and such European destinations as Lake Geneva in Switzerland and the French Riviera.
