Holding a doctorate in education from St. Mary’s College of California, Dr. Helen K. Foster leverages her 20-plus years of experienced in the educational field to serve as the Superintendent of Schools for Coalinga-Huron Unified School District in Coalinga, California. Among her notable achievements, she was the first to bring the Sobrato Early Academic Language (SEAL) program to the California Central Valley in a district with a very large English learner population. Dr. Helen K. Foster has also made major strides to help foster a spirit of trust and cooperation among the Coalinga and Huron communities, to try heal deep division from previous years.
Holding a California Certified Business Official (CBO) certificate, Dr. Helen K. Foster has worked to help streamline business operations after finding severe abnormalities in the Business Services division of the district upon taking the job. Believing in the significance of science and math-based learning, Dr. Helen K. Foster has pioneered partnerships with organizations to bring more STEM-based opportunities to the K-12 students in the Coalinga-Huron Unified School District.
