For more than two decades, Inner Force Tots (IFT) has provided nutritional, developmental, and educational services to more than 5,000 families in need in underserved Brooklyn communities. These services ensure children between the ages of two weeks and five years are physically, mentally, and psychologically prepared for success in today's world. Inner Force Tots’ services also help children between the ages of six and 13 receive seasonal and after-school care that promotes education, the arts, and sports.
The programs at IFT are taught by certified instructional staff representing more than 20 nations around the world. This provides children with a diverse and nurturing environment in which to learn. Teachers at Inner Force are experienced in tailoring lessons to each child’s learning style and every class is supervised by a certified early childhood teacher. Students at IFT receive a free lunch, snack, and breakfast every day and are given the opportunity to enjoy physical fitness and music programs on-site.
Roughly 91 percent of Inner Force kids receive free or reduced lunches. Primarily from African American families living below the poverty line, these children may have disabilities or be English language learners. When recruiting children, the organization prioritizes those who are homeless, in temporary housing, or economically disadvantaged.
