Jacob (Jake) Bickelhaupt has been a leader in the Chicago restaurant scene for years. He originally garnered significant attention as an owner of underground and pop-up dining establishments. In fact, a number of successful restaurants have learned from Jacob Bickelhaupt’s rise to acclaim and mimicked his move from popup to permanent establishment.
After opening his first officially licensed brick-and-mortar restaurant, Jake Bickelhaupt achieved a 2-star Michelin rating within the remarkable time period of just 10 months. Over the years, he has also earned honors from Food & Wine Magazine, CS Magazine, the Jean Banchet Awards, and the Eater Awards. In 2015, he received a James Beard “Best New Chef” nomination.
Outside of the professional environment, Jacob Bickelhaupt regularly contributes to charity dinners for worthy causes. In his free time, he enjoys attending Broadway theatrical productions and musical concerts of all kinds. He also likes to get outside to hike and camp in the wilderness.
