An alumnus of Cathedral Carmel High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, James Castille subsequently earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. After beginning his career as an auditor of financial institutions for a regional CPA firm in 1986, he worked 16 years as chief financial officer of Cobb Energy, Inc., before establishing LUMA Capital, LLC, in 2003. James Castille continues to serve as owner of the Lafayette-based firm, through which he provides business management and commercial insurance consulting services to companies operating in diverse industries, with a particular emphasis on oil and gas.
To that end, Mr. Castille served as chief financial officer (CFO) of Dynamic Industries, Inc., from 2014 to 2016, during which time he oversaw a $700 million contract with a major oil and gas operator in Angola. He also managed all accounting functions for the company's domestic and international operations.
Following his stint with Dynamic Industries, Mr. Castille took on a CFO position with Empire Group, Inc., where he is part of an executive management team that has increased sales from $25 million to $75 million over the course of three years. He has also improved internal controls over cash via the implementation of new procedures and secured $25 million in additional lines of credit. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys fishing, duck hunting, and exercising.
