For nearly three decades, Jay Butan, DVM, has provided pets throughout Lake Worth and Palm Beach County an array of services as owner and primary practitioner at Canal Animal Hospital in Lake Worth, Florida. During his career in veterinary medicine, Jay Butan, DVM, has gained extensive experience in diagnostics, preventive medical and dental care, general surgery as well as laser surgery, and K-Laser Therapeutics. He stays current in his field through professional organizations such as the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association (HSVMA), the American Association of Veterinary Laser Surgeons (AAVLS), and The American Association of Feline Practioners (AAFP).

Jay Butan, DVM, studied animal sciences as an undergraduate student at Cornell University in New York and earned his veterinary medical degree at the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusettes, where he served as a member of the Tufts Ad Hoc Committee on Animal Welfare. Away from work, he enjoys learning to play guitar and spending time with his family.
