The recipient of a bachelor's in marketing from Ball State University, Jeff Hern is an experienced retail merchandiser who worked 24 years at Johnsonville Sausage. Upon joining the company in 1993, Jeff Hern was tasked with utilizing his skills in consumer marketing, brand management, and forecasting, among other areas, to grow product sales at grocery outlets such as Troyer, Marsh, and Meijer. At the latter food retailer he doubled sales in six years. From 2004 to 2017, he served as national account manager for Kroger, Johnsonville's second-largest customer. In two of the past three years, he was accountable for the most growth in top-line dollar sales.

Outside of his career endeavors, Jeff Hern has shown as passion for providing government leadership at the municipal level. He's a council member with Hamilton County and previously served six years as a trustee with Fall Creek Township, where he launched school backpack and adopt-a-family Christmas programs, among other initiatives.

Mr. Hern's passion for helping others extends beyond his work in the political sphere. He's an avid supporter of his local food bank, serves regularly as a youth sports coach, and volunteers at the Hamilton County 4-H Fair. His volunteer work earned him a Delta Tau Delta Alumni of the Year Award for the Northern Region.
