Horizon Realty Group chief operating officer (COO) Jeffrey Michael holds a bachelor of arts in real estate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a juris doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law. After securing his law degree, he began working for the Chicago law firm of Altheimer & Gray, where he represented a range of real estate developers, lending institutions, and investors, assisting them with various financing and acquisition transactions.

He secured his COO position with Horizon in 2001. Since joining this Chicago-based property management and investment company, he has played a key role expanding its real estate portfolio from 10 to 22 multifamily residential properties. The company currently manages over 2,400 units across 24 buildings both in Chicago and in the neighboring suburbs of Elmhurst and Evanston.

When he isn’t working, Mr. Michael enjoys playing guitar and engaging in sports that range from tennis to paddling. He is also an avid traveler who loves to take ski vacations.
