An experienced attorney, Jerry Cardwell began attending the Drake University Law School in 1980. While pursuing a juris doctor, Jerry Cardwell was involved in the regional and national moot court teams, which won several tournaments over the following two years.

He was also involved in the Law Review for two years and was published on several occasions. After graduation from law school Mr. Cardwell practiced in the law firm of George T. Ashen working in the areas of criminal law and personal injury to acquire courtroom experience. After gaining experience as an attorney, Mr. Cardwell established the Denver, Colorado-based Cardwell & Associates.

Over the following years, he grew the practice to employ four lawyers and a support staff of seven, including secretaries and paralegals. Though Jerry Cardwell still runs the firm, he now does so as a solo practitioner. During this time, he has specialized in business and real estate law, among other areas.

He pursues a range of hobbies, including camping, skiing, and hiking. A vehicle enthusiast, he enjoys sports cars, motorcycles, and airplanes.
