A longstanding resident of the greater Phoenix area, Jerry McCoy holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in marketing from Arizona State University in Tempe. Mr. McCoy actually began working as a professional journalist while still in college, serving as a reporter for the daily Phoenix Gazette.

Building upon his experience in the private media sector, Mr. McCoy ultimately entered public service, holding a range of senior executive, communication and public relations positions with the cities of of Glendale and Surprise.

For the past year, Jerry McCoy has served as a community relations project manager with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). His responsibilities with ADOT include planning and implementing extensive communication and community outreach campaigns and initiatives in Phoenix and throughout the state’s northeastern region. He also develops and cultivates relationships among government officials, business leaders and community representatives. His specific areas of expertise range from strategy development and tactical communications to internet and social media projects.
