Jessamy Tang, ABC and ESPN executive for 8 years, has built a career characterized by measurable change and industry accolades. After joining the team at Capital Cities/ABC Inc. in 1994 as part of the ABC Radio Networks division, Ms. Tang rose quickly to several positions in management and had soon earned the Team ABC Award for leadership. Jessamy Tang then became ESPN's director of enterprises in New York, where she expanded the network into the spheres of wireless technology and interactive television.
Soon after named assistant to the president of ABC's radio division, Jessamy Tang subsequently led ESPN Radio to prominence as a full-time station and network business model. She continued to develop its market position as president and general manager for the ESPN/ABC Radio Division in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she secured four Achievement in Radio awards on behalf of the station. After several years as a consultant, Jessamy Tang returned to the sports media business in 2005 as president and CEO of two high-profile ESPN Boston stations.
In 2009, Ms. Tang gave birth to a child with Down syndrome. Her life thus transformed, she then dedicated her time and talents to supporting those organizations that raise money and awareness for people who have Down syndrome. She currently serves as a board member of Down Syndrome International (DSi) for which she has organized the World Down Syndrome Day Conference at the United Nations and has served as a committee member for Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation (DSRTF) and ACDS, formerly the Association for Children with Down Syndrome.
