Leveraging nearly six decades of experience in financial services and asset management, Jim Mabie serves as the chairman of Chicago Capital, LLC. A fixture in the city, he began his career in the 1950s when he stepped into a role as a women’s clothing buyer for Marshall Field’s and Company. After eleven years in that position, Jim Mabie would move on to his first position in the investment sector with a 13-year stint as a vice president with A.G. Becker & Company before spending 35 years as a principal and financial advisor at William Blair.

Prior to embarking upon his career, Mr. Mabie earned a bachelor of arts in political economy from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Community involved, he supports the greater Chicagoland art community as Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and he previously served on the board of Northfield Public Schools. In his leisure time, he enjoys staying active through activities such as tennis, biking, and skiing.
