A retired immigration agent, Job Roden earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and taught religion at a Catholic high school before transitioning into an immigration enforcement career in 1985. An award-winning recruit, Job Roden finished fifth in his training class and then accepted his first position as a patrol agent with the US Border Patrol in Las Cruces, New Mexico. There, he conducted patrol duties and led investigations into the agricultural industry.
Over the next two decades, Job Roden held positions as a criminal investigator and special agent for federal immigration agencies such as Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS-ICE). He gained experience in multiple aspects of immigration enforcement during his career, including leading gang task forces, developing familiarity with firearms, and investigating illegal immigration transportation. Prior to retiring in 2005, he served as a supervisory special agent for DHS-ICE in Brunswick, Georgia, where he trained new immigration enforcement agents.
An active member of the field, Job Roden held membership in professional groups and organizations such as the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association and the Federal Criminal Investigators Association. Also committed to animal welfare and protecting the environment, he previously held membership with the Humane Society, the National Arbor Society, and the Wildlife Society.
