Currently chairman of the investment firm Capital Group, Inc., Joe Corazzi is an established leader in the fields of entertainment, finance, and communications. Throughout his noteworthy career, Mr. Corazzi helped revolutionize the entertainment and communication industries by positioning himself at the cutting edge of multichannel, satellite distribution of cable television entertainment. Joe Corazzi is also working on the delivery of high-tech voice and data telecommunications.
Mr. Corazzi began his career as a songwriter and a musician with bands such as The Berrys. In 1965, his song “Cherry Red ’Vette” was released as a single by the band The Viscount V. Mr. Corazzi would go on to even greater success in the emerging field of music television. In 1979, he became a ground-floor investor and co founder in the Nashville, Tennessee, company that subsequently launched Country Music Television (CMT), a 24-hour cable network devoted exclusively to country music and related programming. Beginning with an initial 1983 broadcast to an audience of 673,000, CMT quickly grew to reach more than 88 million households by 2009.
