A writer and freelance tutor, John Becker has an extensive background in education and has taught courses ranging from AP language and composition to British literature. Also serving as a lacrosse and basketball coach, John Becker led a number of health and wellness programs.

Over the past year, Mr. Becker has gained additional experience in the furniture making field. As a member of the City Bench team, he helped process sustainably harvested lumber and transform it into quality finished pieces. He also delivered and installed finished furniture at client residences and workplaces.

Mr. Becker has a longstanding passion for writing and emphasizes creative vision and intensive editing in every piece produced. His particular interests include natural science, history, and travel, and he has published a piece on his personal experiences participating in the saffron and olive harvests in Italy.

John Becker’s career accomplishments include receiving the Distinguished Faculty Award as a Williams School English instructor and being elected by students as a commencement speaker.
