After obtaining a dual bachelor's degree in international government and Hispanic studies from Connecticut College, John Finneran spent more than 15 years working in sales and marketing roles with various subsidiaries of the consumer goods manufacturer Unilever. Starting as a field sales manager at the company’s Greenwich, Connecticut, office, John Finneran proceeded to rise through the ranks, eventually becoming the marketing manager with the home and personal care division.
During his time with Unilever, he reduced lead time by 88 percent by developing localized sourcing programs with major retailers such as Walmart and Sam’s Club. He also headed two in-house media agencies focusing on well-known beauty products and household goods. His work at Unilever won several accolades, including five Silver Microphones, an award recognizing outstanding achievements in the communications and advertising industry.
Since transitioning away from Unilever in 2000, John Finneran has served as a marketing manager for an office supply company and the director of sales for a dietary supplement firm. Drawing on his decades of experience, he currently provides marketing and sales guidance to start-ups as a consultant.
