A mentor, teacher, and entrepreneur, John MacDonald has more than a decade of experience providing financial solutions, including serving as the co-founder of TheGuarantors. Mr. MacDonald prepared for his career by studying management and art history as an undergraduate student at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. During this period, he also completed an internship as a quantitative analyst with Marsh & McLennan Companies, where he assisted in identifying new business opportunities through the development of a risk-benchmarking portal.

After earning a Master of Arts, Mr. MacDonald went on to serve as an analyst at Deutsche Bank and Argo Partners. As part of his accomplishments at Argo Partners, his team brought about a $3.3 million return while managing a $15 million investment portfolio in distressed credit.

In 2013, John MacDonald began to focus on entrepreneurship. He cofounded MusicianU, an online platform to help amateur musicians share their music with an audience. The following year, he cofounded TheGuarantors, a venture capital-backed startup that furnished technology-based solutions for the insurance industry until 2016. In addition to overseeing the daily operations at MusicianU, he recently earned a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
