Attorney John S. Poulos serves as a partner and vice-chair of the Litigation Practice Group at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, located in Sacramento, California. His primary areas of practice include commercial litigation, banking, and finance, with additional focuses in construction and real estate. In the latter areas, John S. Poulos garnered Top Attorney honors in 2014 from Best Lawyers. From the international firm’s Sacramento office, he has represented professionals ranging from contractors to materials suppliers in work disputes, bid protests, and construction defect claims.

Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois in 2013, he practiced as a managing partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. During his tenure with the firm, he received Northern California Super Lawyer distinctions in 2005, 2011, and 2012.

Prior to beginning his career in law, Mr. Poulos earned a bachelor of arts in economics at Claremont McKenna College and a JD at the University of California, Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law. He currently holds bar admissions in California, Oregon, Colorado, and Alaska.
