As managing principal for Castellan Real Estate Partners in New York City, John Salib guides the firm’s investments and operations. Since the company has a longstanding presence in the city, it has developed strong relationships with various agencies. As a result, the company secured weatherization grants to improve its buildings’ energy efficiency. This has helped the company, which has invested in debt and equity real estate transactions with a market of about $750 million, to lower its carbon footprint.

Prior to his Castellan Real Estate Partners position, John Salib co-founded the value-oriented investment management firm Landmark Advisors LLC, where he served as a partner for more than 10 years. Mr. Salib also spent time in Salomon Smith Barney’s New York office and traveled to Tokyo where he worked on distressed debt acquisitions from Japanese banks. While there, he performed valuation analysis on potential candidates. He belonged to transaction teams that worked with commercial and residential real estate clients to securitize about $3 billion of debt financing.
