The medical director of hospital medicine at Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville, Indiana, Dr. Joseph Galdun comes to his leadership position with an accomplished educational background. He earned distinction as the valedictorian of his high school class before beginning his undergraduate education at Washington University in St. Louis. Attending the school on a half-tuition honorary scholarship, Dr. Joseph Galdun gained placement on the dean’s list and entry to the honor society Phi Beta Kappa.
After completing his bachelor of arts in biology with a minor in English at Washington University, Dr. Joseph Galdun matriculated at the Indiana University School of Medicine. On his way to procuring his MD from the school, he received three scholarships and became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Joseph Galdun’s academic excellence continued during his postgraduate training at Indiana University Medical Center. There, his performance as an internal medicine resident resulted in his garnering selection as chief resident. Serving in this capacity during the final year of his residency, Dr. Galdun maintained a number of responsibilities, including sitting on committees, lecturing to medical students, and leading informative, case-based conferences.
