Juana Reina

Administrative Accomplishments at CCNY

City College of New York

A higher education administrator with three decades of experience in student affairs, Juana Reina is currently working on her Ed.D. at Northeastern University in Boston. Prior to starting her coursework at Northeastern, she served as the vice president of student affairs at the City College of New York (CCNY).

At CCNY, Juana Reina had direct oversight of numerous operations, including student life and leadership development, counseling, campus engagement, health services, and judicial affairs. She was responsible for creating the gender resource services that aimed to provide heteronormative and non-heteronormative educational programs that tackled issues such as gender equity, sexuality, and inclusion. Ms. Reina is also credited with creating the office of campus engagement, an initiative that allowed for the coordination of campus-wide events and programs.

During her more than five years at CCNY, Juana Reina actively participated in institutional activities and was a member of the president's cabinet and the president's review committee, as well as the steering committee for Middle States Commission on Higher Education Self Study. She also served as chair of various institutions such as the student services corporation, the auxiliary enterprises corporation, and the child development center.

Before working for CCNY, Juana Reina held administrative positions at Westchester Community College, Middlesex County College, University of Pennsylvania, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, and Burlington County College. She is also a member of educational associations such as the Tri-State Consortium of Opportunity Programs in Higher Education, the New Jersey Deans of Students Association, and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
