Juliano Laran, PhD, has an extensive background in the consumer psychology research realm. He has taught subjects such as marketing research and marketing communications. In the early 2000s, Juliano Laran was active with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil in supervising students and consulting projects as part of his own Consulting Firm. He chaired several post-baccalaureate honors theses during this time.
Next joining the University of Florida as a doctoral student, Dr. Laran taught courses such as consumer behavior and international marketing. He additionally pursued in-depth research on topics centered on self-control and consumer decisions, as well as the effect of stress on spending choices.
Extensively published in his field, Dr. Laran has received recognition from the American Marketing Association (AMA) as one of the “50 most productive authors” of the past decade. Among his coauthored papers is “Exploring the Differences between Conscious and Unconscious Goal Pursuit” (Journal of Marketing Research, 2016). Juliano Laran’s professional recognition includes being selected as an AMA-Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium Fellow.
