Based in Rochester, New York, Kathleen Whaley, MD, most recently served the addiction medicine clinic Conifer Park where she assisted patients caught up in the nation’s opioid crisis. An Indiana University School of Medicine graduate, Kathleen Whaley, MD, undertook residency training at the Methodist Hospital of Indiana and practiced at a community hospital throughout much of the 1990s.
An achiever in her field, Dr. Whaley received the Achievement Citation from the American Medical Women’s Association while undertaking an internship in New York at Albany Memorial Hospital. Board certified, she is active with the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s national chapter and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Before transitioning her practice to New York in 2016, Dr. Whaley maintained privileges as a hospitalist and addictionologist with the 44-bed Sycamore Springs Psychiatric Hospital in Indiana. She practiced in clinical settings such as the Indianapolis Treatment Center, which maintains buprenorphine and methadone treatment programs.
