Attorney Kathleen (Kathy) Love is one of five women partners at McGinn, Carpenter, Montoya & Love, PA, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She represents people who have been hurt or lost their loved ones due to negligence and intentional acts by companies or the government. Attorney Kathy Love’s recent cases include a verdict of $6 million for the family of Christopher Torres, who was shot and killed by police officers who jumped over a fence into his back yard while he was sitting in a swing in his pajamas, spending time with his dog.

Kathleen Love’s dedication to her community extends to involvement in a number of nonprofit organizations. She serves on the board of Equal Access to Justice, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on providing legal services to New Mexico residents in low-income brackets. In addition to mentoring high school students through the Albuquerque Public Schools Career Enrichment Center, she has taught law students as an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico. Additionally, as a founding member of the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance, she works toward protecting and restoring the state’s remaining wild lands. She previously sat on the boards of both NARAL Pro-Choice New Mexico and NARAL Pro-Choice America.
