Keith Morris leverages extensive experience as a principal to serve as instructional leader with the Detroit Public Schools. In this role, Keith Morris ensures instruction thresholds meet statewide standards, evaluates district extra-curricular activities, and provides focused teacher training and performance evaluations.
Prior to joining the Detroit Public Schools, Mr. Morris served as principal of David Ellis Academy, where he was responsible for providing faculty members with the support they needed to deliver uniformly high levels of instruction. He oversaw standardized assessment and testing and set in place inclusionary models spanning special and general education. He also reviewed data collection efforts and helped maintain proper school management and discipline.
As assistant principal of Wolfe Middle School from 2009 to 2015, Mr. Morris employed a collaborative PBIS model in working with staff, parents, and students to create a positive school learning environment. Under his leadership, the school received a “Highly Effective” QAR (Quality Assessment Review) rating.
