A member of the National Association of Landscape Professionals and the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association, Kenneth "Kent" Basnight serves as the president of Basnight Land and Lawn and owner of its subsidiary businesses, Tidewater Mulch & Material and Historic Greenbrier Farms. Under the direction of Kenneth Basnight, Basnight Land and Lawn provides comprehensive landscaping services to commercial and residential clients with careful attention to plant, shrub, and tree selection. Tidewater Mulch & Material serves as a one-stop-shop for garden tools and accessories, while Historic Greenbrier Farms boasts diverse plant life and hosts both community and private events.

Dating back to 2001, Kent Basnight's companies have earned dozens of annual Best Of awards from the Virginia Pilot newspaper, including distinctions for Outdoor Lighting Services, Landscaping, Garden Center/Nursery, and Curb Appeal. They have also garnered awards from the American Horticultural Society and Community Associations Institute.

In addition to managing three businesses, Mr. Basnight is a Rotarian. As a Southeastern Virginia Boys & Girls Club board member, he co-chaired the organization’s first annual golf tournament, which raised over $80,000. He is an alumnus of Great Bridge High School, where he played on the football team and served as president of the Future Workers school team.
